Tall Ships

Due to the weather and crowds it was really hard to get good images of the Tall ships this year. I did manage this one, avoiding the but what a boring image with dull grey sky and a wonky . The top of the mast was quite close to the top of the image and overall I thought Meh!
So I straightened the image, removed the distracting crane and added a sunset I had captured on a better evening. The main issue was masking the rigging which was a time consuming nightmare - each rope had to be masked individually. I nearly gave up.
The judge criticised the two bright spots between the clouds now behind the rigging. Fair point, bright white does distract so I have muted those spots in my "Libary" sunset so, if I happen to use it again, the judge will have to find something else.
