Barry Thompson LRPS, DPAGB, BPE4
My current camera of choice is a Nikon Z6 II and my mobile phone is always with me.
I have a particular interest in architecture, portrait, wildlife, street and macro photography. I love capturing the essence of a moment and the diversity of human interactions
I’ve been interested in photography for more than 60 years and my journey began when I purchased a second hand Agfa Record III, 6x9, 8 exposure folding roll film camera. Since then, I’ve enjoyed exploring different aspects of photography with different brands of cameras, from the beginning with analogue, then in 1999 I purchased at great cost an Olympus c900z digital camera. So the digital journey began.
Entering the digital age and my first purchase of Photoshop, with all its trials and tribulations of editing, I now can enjoy the technicalities of editing and creating composite images.
Recently I took the journey towards achieving a national award for photographic merit, from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) which is the Distinction (DPAGB). I am currently working towards achieving the British Photographic Exhibitions Five Crown Award (BPE5*).
Having been a member of various clubs, I enjoy the exchange of knowledge and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of being a member of a camera club.
